'Hannah Montana' actor to hold court at Bloomington's Coliseum
Linley to appear during April 19 Extreme football game
BLOOMINGTON -- The “Hannah Montana” invasion of Central Illinois continues apace, this time via one of the hit Disney Channel show’s supporting players.
Cody Linley, who stars as Jake Ryan on the series, has been announced for a personal appearance April 19 at the Bloomington Extreme’s indoor football game at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Linley is scheduled to go one-on-one with his fans by signing autographs and making himself available for photo opportunities prior to the Extreme's clash with Omaha at 6 p.m.
Linley, 17, will hold court in the Coliseum’s main concourse. The autographs are free with a ticket purchase to the game.
Those tickets range from $10 to $32 and are now on sale at the Coliseum box office by calling (866) 891-9992.
Also planned are a series of “meet-and-greet” contests, with details to be announced in the next few weeks.
To date, the Texas-born Linley has appeared on seven episodes of “Hannah Montana.” His character of Jake Ryan is a famous actor who attends Miley Stewart’s school and is voted “hottie of the year.” Romantic complications with Stewart ensue.
Linley’s other credits include supporting roles in the films “My Dog Skip” and “Miss Congeniality” and a starring role in the 2006 children’s film “Hoot.”
The young actor’s Bloomington appearance comes in the wake of the highly hyped “Hannah Montana”/“Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds” 3-D concert film, still playing at Twin City cinemas, and last weekend’s live Peoria Civic Center concert by the Jonas Brothers, who opened for Cyrus on her tour.
